Calling all artists/designer/makers to create and build a ‘modern-day bandstand’ to encourage celebrate performance in the Choumert pocket.

We are seeking to commission an artist/designer to create a temporary ‘modern-day bandstand’ and audience area for the circular space that connects the Choumert Grove Car Park with Rye Lane, Peckham, London.

The ‘modern-day bandstand’ needs to be flexible in terms of its use for all genres of performance, from dance to busking to opera. It also needs to accommodate audiences and performers of all abilities.

The intention of the modern-day bandstand is that it experiments with the space; it will be temporary in its nature and needs to be installed week commencing 2nd June, ahead of a community event on Saturday 7th June, 2014.
